Do I need a prescription for Azithromycin in Thailand?
It depends on the product. Some Thai azithromycin products are specially controlled drugs (prescription only) and others are dangerous drugs (pharmacist only, no prescription needed). Check the legal class of each product in the table below.
Can I bring Azithromycin into Thailand?

- Bring no more than 30 days’ supply for your own use.
- Keep it in the original container.
- Carry your prescription or a doctor’s letter.
- Medicines cannot be posted or shipped to you in Thailand. The 30-day allowance applies to medicines you carry.

Is azithromycin a controlled substance in Thailand?
No. Azithromycin is not on the Thai list of narcotic or psychotropic substances, where it appears in the “others” group. The ordinary medicine rules apply.
