Accutane and Thai isotretinoin brands
Roaccutane is the original brand; Accutane is the US name. In Thailand you will mostly find other brands, including Acnetrex, Acnotin, Roaccutane, Roacta, Rybak and Sotret, usually as 10 mg and 20 mg soft capsules. Ask for isotretinoin by name and strength.
Getting a prescription
Dermatologists at hospitals and skin clinics prescribe isotretinoin and usually monitor treatment, which may include blood tests.
Isotretinoin causes severe birth defects. Anyone who could become pregnant must not be pregnant when starting it and must use effective contraception during treatment and for at least a month after stopping. This is one reason it should never be bought without a doctor.
